Wake me up…
“Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends”
Summer is coming to an abrupt end. Part of me is glad too see it go, the other part is begging for it to say. This is has been on of the best summers I ever had. In fact, it might almost have been the perfect summer. I worked full-time but it was doing something I really loved and I’m leaving the job with some great relationships. I’ve learned so much through this job, about myself and what I can do. At the beginning I was shy, nervous and could barely stand on a moving trolley. Now I’m confident, able to talk to visitors no problem and hell I can even drive the trolley by myself and do basic repairs. I know I want to continue working for the National Park even if it means a lot of moving around. But hey, it’ll be worth it in the end.
I wish I could have seen my friends a bit more but the times we shared were unforgettable. Always a crazy moment with Sarah and Rachael, never boring for a second. I’m going to miss those two with all my heart but I know they’ll visit me whenever they can. Marie and I drifted apart but deep down we still love each other. Even family drifts, you know? There wasn’t enough times with Anne but they were fun…filled with hat wearing and getting in trouble. I got back in touch with Josh and Johnny which was beyond awesome. It was good to see my guys again. I miss talking to James about everything from Green Day and Rent to the most serious of topics. I saw Nick once which just about covered me for the summer haha.
Of course the person I wish I saw the most is Andy. It was hard only seeing him once a week but we had fun and enjoyed every minute together. He’s such an amazing person, I can’t imagine myself without him. I’ve finally found true love and I never want to let that go. Only four more days before we move in and truly begin having an adult relationship. I can’t wait for all the adventures we are going to have down there and all the romantic nights. My poor neighbors….
The next blog I post will most likely be from my new room. Until then my dears I bit you adieu.
The Little Things Give You Away…
The quicker I reach the faster you fall.
Anyways…aside from the little moment of doubt I’m feeling pretty awesome. Just got back from hanging with Johnny, my old PMA schoolmate. It was so good to catch up. We chewed the cud for an hour or so then took a ride down Bum Road which scared the shit out of us. By the way, Bum Road is a Tyngsboro thing…if you’re not from The Boro then you don’t deserve to know what Bum Road is. Anyhoo back to the story. We went down there and it was scary as all hell so we left pretty quick so it didn’t turn into the movie “Wrong Turn”. Eesh…I still think some crazy guy is gonna come after me now. So we plan to see each other again, maybe explore more crazed parts of The Boro. ‘Til then…can’t wait for my next adventure.
Hello My Friend
Today was a whole mess of seeing people I miss and haven’t seen in a while. The day started off with Josh F. visiting me at work for a few. We chatted about the usual crap, smoked a butt and then skidattled to do our separate work. Then later Josh Melendez visited Tom and I during lunch. He passed his GED test with flying colors and enrolled at Middlesex. He’s even got himself a girl now and is having a great time…I’m happy for him. Then I went to the mall to give myself some alone time and guess who’s working at Brookstone? Andrew of course. I haven’t seen him in almost four months, so we did some major catching-up and I sat in a massage chair for two hours. Awesome. Then I had to let him get back to work so I went down to CVS to grab some candy and wha-bam….my friend Johnny is working the register. We decided to see eachother before college starts either down at the lake or whatever. I mean he lives five minutes from me for chrissake. Who knows who I’ll run into tomorrow. Then Thursday Anne, Andy and I are going to Boston to see the fishes…can’t wait for that! Whoo!
Update-a-roo.
Folk Fest was a blast work at this year. Granted, it was also the hardest I have ever worked in my life but it was well worth it because of the amazing people I work with. Saturday I mostly roped off street crossings with some of the older volunteers. One of the ladies said I was cute…it was kind of funny. It rained a bit but man did that feel good. Sharon and Jim joined me on the street toward the last hour and we all joked around. Sharon calls me Budgie, and Jim seriously thought that was my last name for a minute. When he finally figured out that it was a nickname, he decided to give me a “better” one…Budge-a-roo. Super, eh? I actually had tons of energy left at the end of the day so I went back and visited Marie with Andy. The three of us talked for a bit then Marie had to get back to work so Andy and I ventured to the Dutton Street stage until he had to go leave for work. Man I’m so glad I have a day job…I’d hate to work at night and sleep when the sun’s out.
Sunday was twice as hot and twice at hectic. I was on the trolley with Fred and Tom and it was packed every time. We had all sorts of crazies that day…people just bitched and some Asian lady jumped off the trolley when it was moving. Real bright one right there. *Rolls eyes*. I still had fun, though. During lunch I hit up Life Alive and talked to a guy from out-of-town about college, organic eating and the sciences. Man I wish I could have conversations like that everyday. What else…oh yea Ryan didn’t show up that day so it was a bit tough at the end of the day when all the volunteers were going home. But it was cool because Monday Sharon let me come in late. I tried to sleep in, I was so tired and worn out but I couldn’t settle down.
Monday and Tuesday went by fast…I think I went through both days in a daze, I even missed a few steps on the trolley yesterday. Despite that, yesterday did get off to a good start. Josh came and visited me downtown and we finally made plans to see each other. So last night after some bickering with my mother I went back downtown and picked him up. We drove back to T-Boro and hung around the school playground for a bit, just catching up and shit. Then we headed to the Dracut Dunkins to get some free coffee from his friend Jay (who is pretty awesome by the way). The two of ‘em talked in the parking lot for a bit and I listened to their dumbass stories. Jay is the lead singer for George Orwell the Musical…who this kid Mike I know (and Josh is living with) is in too. It’s not my kind of music at all but they’ve got me listening to it. After Dunkins we just drove around ’til 10 and goofed off. Man it felt good to hang with him again…just like in the old days. He’s one person I really trust and I’m glad we started hanging again before I head to college because once that starts it’ll be impossible for me to see him since the loser doesn’t have a car let alone a license. Guess I’ll have ask Ryan nicely to drag his ass down to Dartmouth some weekend.
Well my plans for today got canceled so I think I’m gonna just relax. Tomorrow I’m heading to the beach with Andy (maybe Anna-banana and Marie) for some good ol’ tanning. Andy and I really need a day together, especially with what has been going down. I think we’re going to get his tattoos fixed and who knows I might get another one (I want a paw print somewhere). Oh well as long as I even out my tan and just chill with the love of my life everything will be alright. I’m gonna head out now to the Verizon store and see if I can get my poor phone fixed. Can’t wait for tomorrow. Au revoir!
